Taking Stats During a Game

Getting Started | Taking Stats | Video & Streaming

Water Polo Stats is designed to keep up with a fast-paced game. Logging an event takes one or two taps; you never need to leave the stats entry screen.

The Basics: Tap to Log

The Enter Game Stats screen shows a grid of stat buttons. Select the season, team and game. Press "+" one for each event type (goal, shot on goal, exclusion, turnover, and more). If you make a mistake, press the "-" button. Tap and hold the square buttons for more event details. Tab between the Offense, Defense and Swim Offs. Progress the quarters, Over Time and Shoot Outs as needed.

That's all you need to do. The scoreboard updates in real time, and the event appears in the game timeline.

Press and Hold for More Detail

For richer data, press and hold the square buttons instead of tapping it. This opens a detail panel where you can:

You don't have to use press-and-hold (square buttons) for every event. The square buttons allow more context for coaches and athletes. Round buttons are tap-only

How Stats Drive the Scoreboard

Every goal and goal against you log instantly increments the score on the live scoreboard overlay. The scoreboard is embedded directly into your video recording and streams.

This means there's nothing separate to manage. The same taps that build your stats report are also what keep the stream and recording accurate.

Dual Mode: Stats + Video at the Same Time

One of the most useful features is that you can take stats and record or stream simultaneously, on the same device, if you are using a tablet or folding phone..

When you start a video session (recording or streaming), the stat entry screen stays fully accessible. Your video continues recording while you log events.

This means one person with one tablet can:
